As we get ready for the chaos that will be our 12 Days of Christmas mini-episodes, for the show this month we decided to give the "getting to know you" question format another run.

This time around we discuss our favourite exercises, how we take our coffee and exotic pets among other things, and we even go off on a little tangent about Spoonville, painted rocks and embarrassing YouTube infomercials.

When we were kids back in the 80's we loved nothing more than Saturday morning cartoons, so for this episode we turn the spotlight on three cartoons that were based on totally inappropriate movies for kids, Rambo: The Force of Freedom, Robocop, and The Toxic Crusaders. 

Who knew R-Rated films could sell cartoons and toys?

In the first of our slightly changed, shorter format, this episode we look back on the 1981 Halloween "Classic" The Crown Of Bogg.

Created by Paul Fusco, who later went on to bigger and brighter things, namely "ALF", its a story of Halloween, curses and reluctant kings. And its exactly the bizarre crap that keeps this podcast going!

As August comes to an end, and summer closes in the Northern Hemisphere we lament the fact that we still can't head out to the cinema for the latest blockbuster releases, so once again we look back at cinema of a time passed. This time it's the time of happy pants, bucket hats and wallet chains... the 1990s.

We go over what made money, what didn't, and what we really enjoyed either way.

We're back for another month, with Mitch still stuck inside due to the Lockdown in Victoria, and Joe due to the cold, snowy weather in Tasmania, so what better to do than game and watch the streaming services?

 

Joe continues more "Minecraft Dungeons", while Mitch explores within 5kms of his house on "Pokemon Go", then we watch a bit of TV with "Modern Love" on Prime Video, try episode 1 of Season 2 of "The Umbrella Academy" on Netflix, and get way more into "Jedi Temple Challenge" than two men in their late 40s should.

 

For movies we try the new hottness that is Neflix original "The Old Guard", as well as re-watching one of Joe's favourites, "Tuff Turf" and the "Men In Black" Series.

We're back with another longer than usual mini, and this month due to the return to lockdown in Melbourne and the reduction of all things entertainment worldwide due to the pandemic, we fondly look back at a time when we were allowed to go out and have fun, like going to the movies, with a retrospective on the summer blockbuster films of the 1980s.

It's been a few weeks since we've caught up, so we start the show with a brief catch-up on what's been going on, including the announced return to lockdown in Melbourne, then after a very short chat about gaming we jump into all the TV and movies that are getting a run on the various streaming services, seeing as there really isn't that much else to do.

Joe really enjoyed "Hamilton" on Disney+, but doesn't really get why they made it in the first place, Mitch finishes "Ozark" and learns about Life Drawing, Joe's kids love "Titan Games" and "Floor is Lava", but can't understand why they swear so much on "Broken Skull Challenge", and cooking gets creative in "Crazy Delicious".

Then in movies Joe feels sad thinking about all the actors from "The Blues Brothers" who aren't with us anymore, gets 90's nostalgia in "Go" and "Grosse Pointe Blank", and Mitch introduces his kids to anime.

On the show this month we discuss venturing out into the real world again now the lockdown laws are easing, as well as Joe finally finding good pizza in Launceston.

In gaming we look at "Minecraft Dungeons" and "Unravel", as well as the new iso-friendly challenges on "Pokemon Go", and then go streaming crazy with the new Netflix series "The Big Flower Fight", crazy brits in Lycra on "The Almost Impossible Gameshow", money laundering in "Ozark", and teen superheroes on the DC Streaming "Star Girl".

We then talk movies with "The Lovebirds" on Netflix, Pixar's latest "Onward" on Disney+, and Mitch not really being the target audience for "Faster Colors".

This month for our Welcome to My World episode, Mitch and Joe continue to go over their 10 most influential albums, rounding out the lists with another 5 selections each.

On top of that we have a couple of honourable mentions, as well as a bit of a general discussion on how our musical tastes, and music consumption, has changed over the years too.

 

On the show this month we discuss re-playing classic PC games from days gone by, as well as some more Xbox Game Pass titles, and the latest viewings on all of the streaming services while we are stuck in Iso, including "Chernobyl" from Mitch, and "Jumanji: The Next Level" from Joe.

Then for the second half, inspired by the recent spate of Facebook and Twitter posts about the 10 albums that influenced you the most, we give it a little bit of an audio friendly twist and present our own choices. This episode we cover 5 albums each, and our choices couldn't be more different!

 

It what turned out to be a much longer than usual mini, this month we got together via Skype again to re-watch some classic episodes of The Goodies and remembered just how talented, and maybe just a little bit racist, they were.

We also discuss life in lockdown, binge watching "Tiger King" on Netflix, a new webshow called "Cabin Fever", Elton John's strange performance on the "One World Together at Home Concert", and how some live TV shows are adapting to the current situation.

Mitch and Joe were both huge fans of The Goodies growing up, so were saddened by the recent death of Tim Brooke-Taylor from complications of COVID-19.

As a tribute, we're re-posting this episode we did as Day 12 of our Christmas mini-sodes way back in 2015.
