Episode 36 - Top List Of Stuff We Like... Trademark Pending!
Saturday Dec 06, 2014
Saturday Dec 06, 2014
It's December once again, so that must mean its time for our Second Annual Top Fives for the Year episode.
In a slight change of format for last year, this year we make it a bit more formal and nail down our favourites in the areas of Gaming, TV, Movies, Comics and Podcasts.
What we liked, why we liked them, and some of the other condenders that didn't quite make the top spot.
WARNING: There might be some spoilers in this ep, but we warn you before we drop them.

Episode 35 - GTA, Giants and Thunderbirds!
Sunday Nov 16, 2014
Sunday Nov 16, 2014
Proving they are on the cutting edge of gaming, this month Mitch plays "GTA: San Andreas" and watches his wife play "A World For Keflings" while Joe plays more "WWE Supercard" and moans about the disapointing Games for Gold titles on offer for November.
Mitch then discusses the latest DC Comic themed TV shows like "Gotham" and "Constantine", Joe dives into "Lucha Underground" and "American Horror Story: Freakshow", and both wonder why "Dating Naked" is even a thing before heading to the movies for "Gone Girl" (no Spoilers) and "Interstellar", and ponder the question as to whether the makers of 80's action flick "Speed" got it's premis by watching the saturday morning staple, "The Thunderbirds".
Then after being inspired by reading the new bio-comic by Box Brown, "Andre The Giant: Life And Legend", the guys discuss the book, some of it's stories, and what Andre meant to them back when they first started watching wrestling.

Episode 34 - Vampire Supercard!
Sunday Oct 26, 2014
Sunday Oct 26, 2014
This episode is going to suck…your blood, that is. With Halloween just days away we get into the spirit by watching a bunch of vampire themed films, the 1922 silent classic “Nosferatu” and its companion piece “Shadow of The Vampire”, the late 80’s offering “Near Dark” and unfortunately for Joe, “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”. We also talk non-spoiler “Edge of Tomorrow”, the hipster pretention of “Frank” and the Asylum film “Hercules Reborn” as well as some TV talk with the new season of “The Amazing Race” and Mitch’s trip down the rabbit hole that is Aussie kids shows from the 80’s on YouTube featuring “The Zoo Family” and “Henderson Kids.” Oh, and there is also some game chat with “Dishonoured” and a bit more “Disney Infinity 2.0” on the 360, and both of us getting into WWE Supercard on iPad. Maybe one of us a lot more than the other.

Episode 33 - Dirty Street Pie, Hippies and Superstars!
Sunday Sep 28, 2014
Sunday Sep 28, 2014
After a short gaming conversation covering “Disney Infinity 2.0” a little bit of “Minecraft” and some “Spellfal”, we look at the new TV series “Gotham”, how Peter Capaldi is doing as “Dr Who” and welcome “Tosh.0” back on to our screens. Then it’s a marathon movie session covering “White House Down”, the “Step-Up” series, “Lucy”, “A Million Ways to Die in The West” and how expensive it is taking a family of four to see “Planes – Fire and Rescue”. Following that, “Freebie & The Bean” killed our foray into 70’s buddy cop films, so we rock out with Rock Opera instead and watch “Hair”, “Tommy”, “Godspell” and “Jesus Christ Superstar”. There are also a few tales of bad parenting growing up along the way too!

Episode 32 - Disco Mining Anger Issues!
Sunday Aug 24, 2014
Sunday Aug 24, 2014
We’ve taken on cult movies, teen favourites, sci-fi classics
and even 1932’s "Freaks", but this month we take on our scariest challenge…Disco
Films of the 70’s. With films like “The Wiz” and “Car Wash” on the menu it
shouldn’t be that hard, right?
Before that we talk games with “Far Cry 3” and “Minecraft Pocket Edition”, TV with “Sherlock” and “How I Met Your Mother”, and new release movies “Hercules”
and the awesome “Guardians of The Galaxy”.
We even got a bit cultured and went to see live theatre with
the Melbourne production of “The King And I” staring Lou Diamond Phillips.

Episode 31 - Sci-Fi Cult Movie Challenge!
Thursday Jul 17, 2014
Thursday Jul 17, 2014
We’re back for another month and as usual we jump straight into gaming with a bit of a chat about “Bulletstorm”, “Saints Row the 3rd”, “Prey” and “Super Street Fighter IV” before diving into movies.
Mitch was disappointed by “Transformers 4” and Joe was underwhelmed by “How To Train Your Dragon 2”, but it’s not all downers as Mitch though “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” was amazing, and doesn’t mind saying so…a lot.
We also take the Cult Movie Challenge once again, this time with a Sci-Fi theme, as we delve into 70’s classics “Soylent Green” and “Westworld”, the more modern low budget surprise “Primer” and the Duncan Jones debut feature “Moon” which left us walking on sunshine.

Episode 30 - Getting The Wrong Anderson!
Wednesday Jun 18, 2014
Wednesday Jun 18, 2014
On the show this month we discuss the addictiveness of “Peggle 2” and “Pool Nation” on the Xbox 360, the lack lustre announcements of this year’s E3, and Mitch buying new tech in the Chromecast device.
Then it’s on to movies with “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, sick kids enjoying “The Lego Movie”, Joe getting his directors confused and watching “The Grand Budapest Hotel” and Mitch getting fired up again after Joe watched “Man of Steel”.
We also set up next month’s Sci-Fi Cult Movie Challenge and give a little musical tribute to the late Casey Kasem.

After a gap of over a year, we finally have a guest back on the show this month as Joel returns to discuss his recent trip to the US where he attended Joe-Con, the G.I. Joe convention celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic toy line. He talks in-depth about the con itself, the history of G.I. Joe and the background of his love of collecting.
We also cover the recent release of “Peggle 2” on Xbox 360 and “Lego Marvel Super Heroes”, talk movies with “The Dark Crystal”, “Jurassic Park” and “Divergent”, Star Wars Day, and a wrap-up of this year’s Free Comic Book Day.

Wednesday Apr 02, 2014
Wednesday Apr 02, 2014
This month Mitch discusses playing “Darksiders II” with a newborn in tow while Joe clears “Deadlight” out of his virtual pile of shame, then it’s on to TV with Mitch getting his Netflix set up so he can watch Kevin Smith’s “Comic Book Men”, catching up on “How I Met Your Mother” and some UK wrestling docos that don’t really show the business in a very good light.
Then it’s a quick chat about some recent release movies with “Frozen” and its polar opposite “The Heat”, before we jump into our topic for the month, Quintessential 90s Movies, including in-depth looks at “Clueless”, “Clerks” and “Fight Club” to name a few.

Episode 27 - ...And Timmy The Dog!
Wednesday Feb 26, 2014
Wednesday Feb 26, 2014
We’ve got no topic this month, so instead we have a casual chat about the latest Xbox Ultimate Game Sale, “Lego Batman 2”, and a bit more “Diablo III”. We delve into movies we watched but didn’t really like such as “Empire State” and “In A World…” but also ones we loved like “Man With The Golden Arm” and “Philomena”.
There is also TV talk with highbrow “Broadchurch” and “Sherlock”, lowbrow “Celebrity Cook Off” and “Off The Hook” and a more than it needs to be in-depth discussion on the 1970’s TV series “The Famous Five”. Plus Mitch confesses his love of torches and secret passages.

Episode 26 - Great Expectations 2014!
Friday Jan 24, 2014
Friday Jan 24, 2014
On the show this month we discuss our Christmas holiday gaming, including Xbox sale games, Joe trying to convince Mitch why “Diablo III” is good, and a co-op session of “Gears of War: Judgement”. Then it’s on to TV and films, with returning favourites like Charlie Brooker and “Sherlock” and movies including “World’s End”, “The Hobbit” and an old classic called “The Wages Of Fear”. Mitch even had a chance to catch up on some comic reading too.
Then in the second half we do a speed round of our anticipated TV and movie releases coming up in 2014. We’re excited for some, but a bit lukewarm on others.
Be sure to check our facebook page for movie poster comparisons and youtube links too!

To kick off the show we discuss the latest Games for Gold titles and purchases from the recent Xbox sales, then we follow that up with a review of Charlie Brooker's "How Videogames Changed the World" before diving in to movies including "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2".
Then in the second half we look back at our cross-media Top Fives for the year, covering TV, movies, gaming, comics and podcasts. Surprisingly, there actually was a bit of a cross-over in some picks.
