12 Days of Christmas Specials Specials 2 - Day 1: A Very Murray Christmas!
Sunday Dec 13, 2015
Sunday Dec 13, 2015
Back with a vengance for our second year, it's time to hang the stockings, make some egg nog and sit back for 12 days of Christmas specials to put you in that Christmas spirit once again. Every day in the count down until Christmas we will be watching a TV special or Christmas themed episode, and giving you our own special take on things.
So, for day 1 this year we thought we'd try something brand new and watched the Netflix original, "A Very Murray Christmas" starting the one and only Bill Murray and a handful of his hollywood friends. Was it any good? Was it a great way to kick off this year's specials? Hmm...maybe not, but listen to what we though of it anyway!

As usual there are the strange tangents, possible spoilers and a bit of colourful language thrown in too!

We then jump into TV with new shows "American Horror Story: Hotel", "Ash vs. The Evil Dead" and "Supergirl" as well as a bit more Transformers talk around "Robots In Disguise".
Then Mitch goes to Imax for "The Walk" and Joe stays home to see the classic "To Kill A Mockingbird", Amy Schumer feature "Train Wreck" and top 5 movie of the year late contender, "Ex Machina".

Before that we also talk "Frozen Freefall Snowball Fight", "Sleeping Dogs" and "Transformers: Devistation" on the Xbox 360, check out what's good and bad in the new Fall TV line-up, Mitch sees Kevin Smith live while Joe watches his latest movie "Tusk", Joe's gun knowledge in "Run All Night", the similarities between Ultron and Raymond Reddington, and we have a non-spoiler chat about "The Martian" while singing the praises of Matt Damon. Could he just have replaced Ryan Reynolds as the greatest actor of our generation?

We also look at other hip hop themed movies "Krush Groove", "Wild Style", "8-Mile", "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" and the Chris Rock spoof rapumentory "CB4".
Before that we manage to sneak in a bit of gaming with "Peggle Blast" and Season 2 of "WWE Supercard" on ios, discuss the animated Dan Harmon series "Rick & Morty", wrestling with NXT Takeover - Brooklyn, and Mitch's strange experience seeing "Magic Mike XXL" at the Astor.
Mitch even gets a bit of culture and gives us his review of the radio play "The Intergalactic Nemesis".

Episode 43 - Who Cut The Cheese?
Wednesday Aug 19, 2015
Wednesday Aug 19, 2015
This month no rain, and no topic either, but that doesn't mean we didn't have a lot to talk about. We hit "Angry Birds 2" on IOS and old Arcade classis on the MAME emulator before diving into TV with more from kisscartoon.me, magical tales in "Penn & Teller: Fool Us", FBI fun with "The Blacklist" and mad mexicans battling it out with "Lucha Underground: Ultima Lucha".
We then have a giant list of films to tackle, with features "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation", "Ant-Man", "Nightcrawler", "Taxi Driver" and a longer chat than it probably warrants for "Pitch Perfect 2".
After that the movies continue with docos on true crime with "Crazy Love", Adam Carolla's "Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman" and incomplete super heroes in "The Death of Superman Lives".
We even find some time to talk up the tennis doco spoof, "7 Days In Hell" and wrap up the show with a tribute to the Hot Rod himself, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

Episode 42 - Titular And Apocryphal!
Friday Jul 17, 2015
Friday Jul 17, 2015
Despite the rain being so loud on the night of recording we could hardly hear ourselves think, we managed to cover a bit of gaming with Mitch slipping back down the "Peggle" rabbithole, before moving to TV where we talk "WWE Tough Enough", more "Veronica Mars", "Carnivale", the mini-series "Houdini", and Joe dives into the website Kissanime.me and a cartoon called "Wanna Be The Strongest In The World" which he assures us is not porn.
After that Mitch brings in a bit of culture with the theatre production of "North By Northwest" and we follow that up with a chat about current releases "Minions" and "Terminator: Genisys", missed classic "The Shawshank Redemption", Mitch's True Crime obsession, the crowd funded "Veronica Mars" movie, and a very indepth look at the documentary "The Sheik", featuring everybody's favourite 80's heel, The Iron Sheik.

Episode 41 - The Dramaticness of The Drama!
Sunday Jun 21, 2015
Sunday Jun 21, 2015
It's "Cult Movie Challenge" time again, and this time around we look at 4 films from 1957: "12 Angry Men", "Funny Face", "The Seventh Seal" and "Bridge On The River Kwai". It was a mixed bag, with very mixed opinions on these classics.
Before that we also look at this year's E3 news, Joe gets stuck into more ios gaming with "Clash of Clans" and Mitch finishes "Lollipop Chainsaw" on the 360.
In TV we go non-spoiler "Game of Thrones", hotpants crazy for "Supergirl", and meta Dan Harmon in "Community", before turning our attention to movies for new releases "Mad Max: Fury Road" and "Jurassic World", Adam Carolla's semi-bio pic "Road Hard" and Mitch's old favourite, "Brain Donors".
And Mitch gets to put the boots into the Welsh one more time too!
Sunday May 17, 2015
Episode 40 - Furious Avengers Under The Staircase!
Sunday May 17, 2015
Sunday May 17, 2015
The nerds as happy this month as they have both finished 2 games on Xbox 360, "Far Cry 4" and "Force Unleashed 2" for Mitch, and "Sacred 3" and the 2013 "Tomb Raider" for Joe.
After that they talk TV, with Season 5 of "Game of Thrones", Season 2 of "Silicon Valley", the ESPN Doco "E:60 - Behind the Curtain WWE NXT", and comic book shows. Mitch was inspired after watching "The Jinx" last month to delve into more true crime, so he disects "The Staircase", and Joe subjects his kids to 80's "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe".
We then have a lot of movies to discuss, with "Taken 3", "Walk of Shame", and "Exodus: Gods and Kings", as well as big blockbusters "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Fast and Furious 7", and no so big blockbusters with the Fast series spoof, "Superfast!" We also possibly do our shortest review ever of a recently released film.
We then set up for next month, announcing another Cult Movie Challenge, this time inspired by "Inside Amy Schumer" we're going to watch "12 Angry Men" and some other classics from way back in 1957.

Episode 39 - How Do You Accidently Shave Your Eyebrows?
Saturday Apr 04, 2015
Saturday Apr 04, 2015
It's a big one this month, as we discuss Joe's new iOS addiction, "SimCity Buildit", more of Mitch's adventures in "Far Cry 4" and whether Netflix will hurt pay TV super heavy weight, FOXTEL. We also talk TV with the dissapointing "Glee" finale, the equally disappointing "Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special", and the new show "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt". We then go spoiler heavy on Wrestlemania XXXI and Raw the night after, including the best sign ever on a WWE show. In movies we look at robots in "Chappie", artists in "Big Eyes" and the cantankerous Dan Harmon in the "Harmontown" documentary. Then around the 50 minute mark we go super spoiler heavy and have an in depth conversation about the HBO documentary series, "The Jinx: The Life & Deaths of Robert Durst", so if you haven't seen it yet, maybe try and watch it before we give away the twist ending.

After taking a month off we're back to discuss our recent outing to the Soundwave Festival, then it's back to the usual format with a chat about retro gaming, more "Far Cry 4" from Mitch and a little mention of WWE Supercard.
We then talk TV, with Mitch checking out two new shows, "Last Man On Earth" and "The Odd Couple" and Joe trying "Better Call Saul", as well as some more reality TV highlights, and a history lesson on Killer Bees via Leonard Nimoy and "In Search Of..." before a discussion on the current state of the WWE and wrestling in general leading into Wrestlemania.
After that we wrap up the show with movies, including embelishing true events in "The Immitation Game" and "American Sniper" and Mitch not sure if he liked "Jupiter Accending" or not.
We end the show with the track "Liberty" by The Interrupters, who we both really dug at Soundwave. Check out their album on iTunes, it's worth a listen.

Episode 37 - Great Expectations 2015!
Tuesday Jan 27, 2015
Tuesday Jan 27, 2015
After the massive undertaking that was the 12 Days of Christmas Specials we're back to normal this month. We talk holiday gaming with "Lego Batman 3", "WWE 2k15" and "Max: The Cursed Brotherhood", TV with "Veronica Mars" and "Steve Austen's Broken Skull Challenge" and a trip to the cinema for "Big Hero 6".
We then get stuck into the movie releases coming up in 2015 that float our boats, there are pleny on the horizon including sequals and franchises, but none bigger than what's due in December, so we talk in depth about what we want out of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
** On a side note, there was a SNAFU with the mics at first, so the first few minutes is a little low quality, but bear with us as its sorted after that. **
