Welcome To My World Episode 15 - Krull!
Sunday Jul 01, 2018
Sunday Jul 01, 2018
This month for the mini we go back to 1983, when Joe was 12 and Mitch 10, for a movie that was right in our wheelhouse, the sci-fi fantasy "Krull".
We have fond memories of this from when we were younger, especially for Joe, but does it hold up in 2018? Probably not. It still has some pretty cool concepts though, plus an awesome signature weapon.

Episode 93 - Smugglers, Songs and Sh*tballs!
Friday Jun 15, 2018
Friday Jun 15, 2018
We start off the show this month re-capping our big weekend at Continuum Con 14, including DJ’ing the costume ball and hosting the movie trailer panel, then we jump into TV with Joe getting his Netflix True Crime fix with “Evil Genius” and “Making A Murderer” and Mitch binging the new season of “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” as well as a dose of trash TV for the both of us with “100% Hotter”.
After that we jump into the two biggest nerdy movies showing at the moment, with a spoiler free “Deadpool 2” chat, and a slightly spoilery “Solo: A Star Wars Story” conversation, plus we manage to sneak in a little wrestling chat at the end with news that New Japan star Tetsuya Naito will be here in August for Melbourne City Wrestling.

Welcome To My World Episode 14 - Valley Girl!
Thursday May 31, 2018
Thursday May 31, 2018
35 years ago a little known actor, Nicolas Cage, had his first starring role in the teen comedy-romance, “Valley Girl” so to celebrate this milestone we went back and watched it for this month’s mini ep.
Joe had fond memories of this from back in the day, especially the soundtrack, but turns out Mitch remembered it more for the trailer than the film itself.
Does it still hold up after all this time? Did it ever? And what the hell is going on with Cage’s chest hair?

Episode 92 - Fast Cars, Avengers and Not-So-Free Comic Book Day!
Tuesday May 15, 2018
Tuesday May 15, 2018
This month Joe has started a new mobile game called “The Muscle Hustle” and binge watched the street racing reality series “Fastest Car” and the coming-of-age cartoon “Big Mouth” on Netflix, as well as starting the Karate Kid spin-off “Cobra Kai” and the classic sit-com “The Golden Girls”. We even managed to start season 2 of “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Westworld” too.
For movies Mitch goes in-depth, but spoiler free for “Avengers: Infinity War” and Joe raves about “The Greatest Showman” and “Peter Rabbit” before we wrap up the show with a chat about our adventures at Free Comic Book Day.

Welcome To My World Episode 13 - Is This Guy For Real?
Tuesday May 01, 2018
Tuesday May 01, 2018
This month, inspired by the new graphic novel "Is This Guy For Real? The Incredible Andy Kaufman" by cartoonist Box Brown, for our not-so-mini mini episode we go down a crazy rabbit hole.
We discuss the life of Andy, as depicted in the book, including his early years, Elvis impersonations, Foreign Man, his role on the sitcom "Taxi", his alter-ego Tony Clifton, and, more close to our wheel houses, his foray into the world of professional wrestling for his feud with Jerry "The King" Lawler.
We also discuss the 1999 Jim Carey film "Man On The Moon", dive into the very strange "My Breakfast with Blassie" and watch a lot of YouTube clips of the man himself.

Episode 91 - Wrestling Mania!
Sunday Apr 15, 2018
Sunday Apr 15, 2018
We start off this episode with a little bit of co-op gaming chat, then Mitch talks about his new release purchase, "Far Cry 5" before moving on to reality TV at it's worst in "Age Gap Love" and it's best with "Nailed It". Then Mitch was disappointed with the new series "Rise" and the re-boot of "Reboot", but we both dig the new animated "Corner Gas".
In movies, Mitch goes to the cinema to see "Pacific Rim: Uprising", is impressed with "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri" and Joe and his wife have differing opinions on "Annihilation" and "Spiderman: Homecoming" before both enjoying "Hurricane Bianca".
Then for our topic, seeing as it was Wrestlemania week, we talk about how we became wrestling fans growing up, meeting each other at the Prince Pat’s, how we got involved in the local scene, our thoughts on the actual Wrestlemania 34 event, and Joe gets emotional watching the new Andre The Giant HBO doco.

Welcome To My World Episode 12 - Made-Up Bands!
Thursday Apr 05, 2018
Thursday Apr 05, 2018
Inspired by our chat about bands and gigs on our last episode, for the mini this month we decided to look at our favourite made-up band movies.
Mitch goes with the classic mockumentory metal band Spinal Tap, from "This Is Spinal Tap" and Joe goes with the Oneders from the 1996 Tom Hanks written and directed "That Thing You Do!"

Episode 90 - Favourite Concerts!
Friday Mar 16, 2018
Friday Mar 16, 2018
On the show this month Joe plays some "Viva Piñata: Party Animals" with his kids, and finishes off the some more "Borderlands 2" DLC before making the most of his new Netflix subscription and mainlining all of the new season of "Black Mirror" and the 90's themed "Everything Sucks". We also look at Joel McHale's new show "The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale" and Mitch finally uses his Amazon Prime to watch "The Tick".
In movies we briefly talk Marvel's "Black Panther" and Oscar winner "The Shape of Water", go a little bit spoilery on "Get Out", look at docos "Saving Bankys" and "Jiro Dreams of Sushi", and dive into 70's custom van culture with the unimaginatively titled "The Van".
The for our topic, inspired by our recent outing to see Pop Will Eat Itself, and Mitch's experience at Queen + Adam Lambert, we discuss our favourite concerts, as well as some tips on concert etiquette, Mitch's mosh related injuries, and the bizarre world of the Juggalos.

Welcome To My World Episode 11 - Queer Eye!
Thursday Mar 01, 2018
Thursday Mar 01, 2018
For this month’s mini we get passionate, maybe a little bit too passionate in some cases, about the new Netflix series, "Queer Eye".
It's an in-depth chat about the contestants, the make-overs, the new Fab 5, a breakdown of who we love and who we don't, and how they compare to the original hosts of the 2003 version.
It is pretty spoiler heavy, so if you may want to watch the show before listening to this episode.

Episode 89 - Pod It Forward!
Thursday Feb 22, 2018
Thursday Feb 22, 2018
It's back to our old format this episode, so we start off by having a bit of a chat about gaming with more "Tekken 7" and "Oddworld: New & Tasty" for Joe, and the Hot Wheels expansion pack for "Forza Horizon 3" for Mitch before moving on TV where Joe has become a streaming service machine, signing up of both New Japan Pro Wrestling World and the WWE Network. On top of that he has also started Netflix and has gone head first into the trashy "Deep Fried Masters" and the slightly more highbrow "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" whereas Mitch is keeping it geeky with the new DC series "Black Lightning".
In movies, we've both been to the cinema to see the new "Jumaji" reboot, so we talk about that, as well as Mitch's trip to Imax with his son, the Netflix fantasy "Bright" and the George Lucas classic "American Graffiti".
Then for our topic this month, we "Pod It Forward" and show some love for a few of the newer additions to our podcast listening lists, including "The Guilty Feminist", "All Killa No Filla", "Edge & Christians Pod of Awesomeness", "Something to Wrestle", "Wizard and The Bruiser". "1D10T" and "Pitchface". Mitch even gets a couple of plugs in for his other podcasts, "Geekdudes" and "Hey, Hey It's the Podcast" too.

Welcome To My World Episode 10 - Alternative Romance!
Wednesday Feb 14, 2018
Wednesday Feb 14, 2018
We're back for another season of our mini-episodes, and just in time for Valentine's Day!
So, as a tribute to the romance genre, we've put our own spin on it and look at our favourite romances, the David Lynch film "Wild At Heart" starring Nicholas Cage and Laura Dern for Mitch, and the Oliver Stone directed "Natural Born Killers" with Woody Harrelson, Juliette Lewis and a cast of thousands for Joe.

Episode 88 - 2018 Great Expectations!
Tuesday Jan 23, 2018
Tuesday Jan 23, 2018
In a January tradition that we started six years ago with our very second podcast, this episode we look forward with our Great Expectations for 2018.
That's right, all the stuff we're excited about in the coming year for television and movies, plus a little bit of gaming thrown in too.
