Day 5 - Gumby's Christmas Capers (1957)
Monday Dec 17, 2018
Monday Dec 17, 2018
Hopefully you have taken the right drugs to enjoy today’s pick, as we go back to 1957 for “Gumby’s Christmas Capers”. It’s a collection of vaguely Christmas themed episodes clumped together, featuring some stories that go nowhere staring everybody’s favourtie clay boy and his pet pony.
We weren't able to find the full show on Youtube, but you can watch one story, Santa-Witch here.

Day 4 - Santa's Magic Toy Bag (1984)
Sunday Dec 16, 2018
Sunday Dec 16, 2018
Sherman is an elf that can’t seem to do anything right, and the star of today’s TV special, “Santa’s Magic Toy Bag” from 1984. Created by Paul Fusco, who went on to make the puppet ALF, this poor man’s Muppet Show really made us earn our explicit tag!
We couldn't find it on youtube, but there is a pretty good rip you can watch here on Vimeo - Santa's Magic Toy Bag.

Day 3 - Santa's Enchanted Village (1964)
Saturday Dec 15, 2018
Saturday Dec 15, 2018
It’s a crazy one today, as we look at a short from 1964 called “Santa’s Enchanted Village”. Filmed around the Santa’s Village theme parks in Detroit and California, and featuring some of the worst animal costumes we’ve seen in a long time, this is a sight to behold. On top of that there is a strange intro section that feels very tacked on hosted by a familiar face.
If you are playing along at home and don't have Prime, or if you do but can't face the search function, here it is on YouTube - Santa's Enchanted Village. Although it is missing the added intro sequence.

Day 2 - Santa's Surprise (1947)
Friday Dec 14, 2018
Friday Dec 14, 2018
We skip forward a decade from yesterday for Day 2, and another animated cartoon today called “Santa’s Surprise” from 1947, which just so happens was the first appearance of Lil Audrey, as her group of other children for around the world sneak into Santa’s house to tidy up and say thanks for all the presents.
Can you say casual racism anyone?
Also, for those non-Prime listeners, you can find it here on Youtube.

Day 1 - Gifts from The Air (1937)
Thursday Dec 13, 2018
Thursday Dec 13, 2018
This year for the 12 day countdown we thought we’d try something different and pick all of our TV shows we watch from Amazon Prime. And, once we navigated the shitful search function, we did find quite a lot of Christmas content.
So, for Day 1 we go way back to 1937 for “Gifts From The Air”, a very nicely animated short featuring a poor young boy who dreams of magical wind-up toys and has some ingenious ways of making a tree on the cheap.
And for those of you playing along at home that don't have Amazon Prime, you can find it on Youtube here - Gifts From The Air

Welcome To My World Episode 18 - The Barbarians!
Thursday Nov 22, 2018
Thursday Nov 22, 2018
In our final Welcome to My World mini ep for the year, we continue with our 80’s fantasy film saga and look at the 1987 film, “The Barbarians” staring everybody’s favourite set of bodybuilding twins, David and Peter Paul, AKA The Barbarian Brothers.
Does it still hold up? Was it actually any good in the first place? And just how 80’s New York can a sword and sorcery film really be?

Episode 96 - Halloween Rhapsody!
Thursday Nov 08, 2018
Thursday Nov 08, 2018
We start off this month with a little chat about Mitch’s recent redundancy, and the adventures our children had for Halloween, before a very brief discuss of what it’s like playing multiplayer games with kids under 10.
Then it’s TV with Joe being a little disappointed with the new seasons of “American Horror Story” and “Making A Murderer”, and the re-boot “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” but really enjoying the Netflix original, “Atypical”, while Mitch adds another streaming service to his list, so he can watch “Titans”.
We then wrap up the show by watching two bio-pics, Joe with the story of a white trash ice skater in “I, Tonya” and Mitch with the greatest front man in the history of rock in “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

Welcome To My World Episode 17 - The Beast Master!
Thursday Oct 25, 2018
Thursday Oct 25, 2018
For the mini ep this month we continue our journey through the fantasy films of our youth, with “The Beast Master” from 1982. We, especially Joe, were really looking forward to re-watching this, but as it turns out it is much longer and drawn out than we remembered, and in places not really what we remembered at all.
In our disappointment we even go on a little tangent about the final Blockbuster Video closing in Greensborough recently.

Episode 95 - Wrestling, Rapping Clowns and Rabbitholes!
Thursday Oct 11, 2018
Thursday Oct 11, 2018
We start the show this month with a bit of a chat about gaming, including Mitch deleting “Toy Blast”, Joe’s kids going “Pokemon Go” crazy while on holiday in Tasmania, The “Fire Pro Wrestling World” New Japan DLC, and going old school with original Xbox games.
We both had trips to the movies, so we discuss “The House With A Clock In It’s Walls”, “Venom” and why “Predator” is no way near as good as the original one.
In TV Mitch wraps up “Castlerock”, Joe watches the ABC sci-fi drama “Glitch” on Netflix, and we go down two massive rabbitholes, firstly with toy trains and demolition derby on Amazon Prime, then with Insane Clown Posse and the Gathering of the Juggalos on YouTube.
Plus we have just a little bit of time left to wrap up this past weekend’s wrestling events.

Welcome To My World Episode 16 - The Sword & The Sorcerer!
Wednesday Sep 19, 2018
Wednesday Sep 19, 2018
This month we continue with our 80's Sci-Fi Fantasy theme by watching "The Sword And The Sorcerer".
A slight stuff-up with where we thought it was streaming did mean we ended up watching the RiffTrax version on Amazon Prime, but I think we still got the idea that this 1982 "classic" may not have been as good as we remembered it being.
Still, a Barry Gibb lookalike in a fur coat with a three-pronged sword can't be all bad, can it?

REPOST - EP 77 R is for Burt Reynolds
Saturday Sep 08, 2018
Saturday Sep 08, 2018
Both Mitch and Joe were big fans of Burt Reynolds. Over the course of our show he is the only person we've dedicated a whole episode to, so we we're saddened by his recent death.
As a special tribute we are reposting episode 77 from our A to Z specials that originally posted in September 2017.

Episode 94 - ...And We're Back!
Thursday Aug 30, 2018
Thursday Aug 30, 2018
After a month and a bit away from the show, Joe has got his head back together (even if we did get the episode number wrong), so we sat down and had a chat about what we’ve been up to since we last recorded.
Joe has got a new PC, so has been dabbling in streaming his Xbox One to it via Windows 10 and Mitch has finished “Far Cry 5” and is looking for a new game, but after reading the Box Brown graphic novel “Tetris: The Games People Play” we fall back down that familiar rabbit hole.
In movies Joe was disappointed with “Ready Player One” and down-right angry with “A Wrinkle In Time” while Mitch loved “Mission Impossible: Fall Out” but thought “Skyscraper” was stupid.
After that it’s TV time, as Joe also really liked the Masters of The Universe doco on Netflix “The Power of Greyskull”, and Mitch dove in deep into “Castle Rock”.
